How will we foster a culture of innovation?
Short Answer:
Encourage everyone in the firm to look for dumb stuff and then establish a process similar to the “Bottomline Change” process at Zingerman’s Deli. They have a booklet and ZingTrain course by the same name. It teaches a four-step process so each employee owns the thing they want to change and gives them the problem solving and project leadership skills to fix the problem with the proper sign-offs. It’s also important to increase the interactions of employees with their counterparts within customers so they remain attuned to the changes that need to be made. Last, encourage all senior team members and team leads to submit 3 ideas each month for how to increase revenues, reduce costs, and/or make something easier and better for customers and employees.
